This is what your stomach does to a cheeseburger before digesting it

The Periodic Table of Videos is one of my favorite YouTube channels. It's fascinating to delve into their library and find jewels like this: "What happens when you dunk a cheeseburger in concentrated hydrochloric acid?" Hydrochloric acid is one of the compounds in your stomach.

This acid—along with other compounds—break food down in order for it to be processed and, at the end of the process, generate the substances that power your body. Human bodies are as amazing as they are gross.
